Life & Hope (LHA)
Sustainable Community Project
Life and Hope Association (LHA) is a non profit, non government and non political organization. It was founded in 2005 by the monks of Watt Damnak and friends.
The Sustainable Community Project was the first initiative of LHA.
Currently, 40 families living in villages 35 kilometres North of Siem Reap, are part of a monitored project, led by LHA who are based in Siem Reap, and funded by Rice For Cambodia.
The Program Director and his team, closely monitor each family to determine their needs and opportunities that can change the dire circumstances of their living conditions. Each month the group meets together to discuss issues and to receive 15 kilos of rice and 3 bottles of sauce – food to supplement their own attempts at sustainable living.
At the same time, in the background, we are working with Life and Hope Association to assist in keeping the children at school and to identify and facilitate families ready to utilise a micro loan to start their own business.
For only $15 a month, $180 a year, you can adopt a family and follow their journey to sustainability. All donations are tax deductable.
